That’s what food and tradition are all about… those we love and the memories we have shared. What a beautiful post. I remember my Grandma (Maude) every Christmas (and more) when I roll out her recipe of sugar cookies. Hers were huge, and tender and delicious, just like she was. And, her butter tarts – I have never had any as good. Sorry, Irene.
How wonderful that you were to share a friendship with such a character. I am sure she would be deeply touched to know you are carrying on a bit of her tradition this season.
