Today’s Special: Cookies from Bluebird Bake Shoppe
I ventured to the Alberta Avenue Farmer’s Market on a chilly Thursday evening to finally sample my dear and talented friend Cora’s little baked treats at the Bluebird Bake Shoppe. Perfectly presented in simple little brown stamped bags and pretty boxes, these gorgeous little cookies taste as good as they look. Perfectly crumbly and buttery little cookies with hints of fresh rosemary. Others with the delicate flavour of basil and lime. Pale delicate shortbread studded with the subtle aroma of lavender. Soft and chewy ginger rum molasses cookies. And the sandwich cookies…soft little rounds filled with lemon or raspberry curd. And of course, the classic chocolate chunk cookie, soft and perfectly baked. With cozy blanket and tea weather right around the corner, there is no cookie I would rather have nestled on my tea saucer.

Check out her flour-less chocolate hazelnut cake…it’s a beautiful thing!

Only food allergy = hazelnuts. Sad face. But I can only imagine it’s a gorgeous as Cora herself.
